Hi-fi sound from nowhere
First introduced by Lufthansa Technik in 2004, the Trim Panel Speaker (TPS) sound system has proved to be very successful. Operators like the in-flight performance, compared with conventional cone speakers with directed sound characteristics. The TPS turns the panel into a speaker, so the sound literally surrounds you and is evenly dispersed in the cabin. No matter where you sit, the sound is clear, and there are no peak loudness/distorted areas in the cabin.
In the past six years, Lufthansa Technik has continued to upgrade the TPS performance, and today’s system represents the third generation of TPS technology.
Before installing the TPS, Lufthansa Technik will perform a cabin panel survey to determine the correct position and number of transducers on the panel. The new drive system is light weighted and only two inches deep, leaving the cabin designer with the maximum imaginable freedom.
