Mounted in a new radome on the tip of the vertical tail, the Two-In-One Solution (TIOS) is the ideal platform for an integrated Satcom and satellite TV antenna installation. The TIOS radome is also the perfect location for installing a forward-looking camera. TIOS does not just save space: depending on the scope of the installation up to 45 kg weight can be eliminated compared with a standard fuselage configuration with two separate antennas. Moreover, the aerodynamic design reduces drag and hence operational costs. Installation of the antenna systems in the aft fuselage also has a positive impact on the aircraft's center of gravity.
The Two-in-One Solution from Lufthansa Technik is the ideal solution for the integrated installation of Satcom and satellite TV antennas as well as a camera in one radome. TIOS also allows the installation of the common mechanical antenna systems for DBS and Satcom systems, such as the Honeywell Aero-I products and the systems of other suppliers. TIOS is currently available and certified for the BBJ and BBJ 2.
