Smart Entertainment
The new nice® HD Media Center offers a wide
range of entertainment features. With its ability to store and distribute
Audio- and Video content, the Media Center turns the cabin
to a theater in the sky.
Lufthansa Technik has developed a multifunctional media center which includes a
Blu-ray Player with built-in storage and update software packages that
transform it into a Media Server, an Audio/Video on Demand (AVoD) Server (both
wired and wireless), and a Moving Map Server. One unit can host all the
applications and simultaneously playback two applications at once in HD. All these features are offered in a package
smaller than the size of our existing DVD player. Finally, with smooth
integration of the Media Center’s features into
the nice® HD Graphical User Interface, control is easy and intuitive.
The Media Center can stream multimedia content either wired to nice® HD system displays or wireless to mobile devices like smartphones or tablets. A perfect entertainment source.
Blu-ray Player
Beyond Blu-ray discs, the nice® HD Media Center
supports all other common formats such as DVDs, Audio-CDs and MP3-CDs. The
delivery of video streams to bulkhead monitors and/or seat displays is DRM protected.
Media File Server
The built-in Media File Server Application stores up to 150GB of
multimedia content which can be uploaded to the internal solid-state drive of
the nice® HD Media Center via USB 3.0.
Video or audio content can be selected at the master seat location and distributed (synchronized) within the nice® HD system to bulkhead monitors, pop-up displays, and seat PCUs. The unit supports all common media formats and codecs.
Audio Video On Demand (AVOD)
The AVOD functionality enables individually controlled movie/audio/picture
playback at the seat.
Up to ten different video streams are supported, which can independently be selected at any display in the cabin - a 22” monitor, a 10” pop-up seat display or a 4.3” Passenger Control Unit. Optionally, a user or crew member can also pre-select videos and then initiate synchronous playback on monitors, sections, seat displays and/or cabin speakers.
Wireless AVOD
With its wireless AVOD capabilities the nice® HD Media Center allows passengers
to use any smartphone or tablet device for media playback.*
niceview™ Moving Map
System
The nice® HD Media Center can host the
award winning niceview™ HD Moving
Map System. niceview™ provides
worldwide, high-resolution 3-D maps and virtual flights designed to create the
ultimate flight information and viewing experience.
